Raghav Singh writes on ere.net about QuietAgent (the technology behind United We Work) unique approach, that incorporates the comprehensive O*Net database for classifying and matching, and isn’t about secret algorithms that recruiters have to blindly ‘trust’ when it comes to finding the right candidates.
Matching technology is nothing new. Other products have been available for at least a decade. But most matching products are a black box. Using them requires having total faith in the methodology and algorithms developed by the vendors.

Editor & Publisher, America’s oldest journal covering the newspaper industry – questions whether the new United We Work website, which grew out of AllianceQ, is a threat to major job boards;
Unlike CareerBuilder, job seekers at UnitedWeWork don’t search and apply for specific jobs, but fill out a templated resume. That information is then matched with job postings. The site continually looks for matches and will even match for those who get a job through the site.

QuietAgent expects to have 500,000 job listings by the end of this week

The Chicago Tribune reports that several Chicago-based firms have joined the United We Work initiative, to help get Americans back to work.
UnitedWeWork.org launched Monday with sponsorship from Hoffman Estates-based Sears Holdings, Northbrook-based Allstate Corp., Chicago-based Hyatt Corp. and Lincolnshire-based Hewitt Associates, as well as AT&T, ADP, Office Depot, 7-Eleven and Starbucks.

A single form applies for work at 7-Eleven, ADP, AT & T, Allstate, Hewitt, Hyatt, Office Depot, Sears and Starbucks. Other companies are welcome to join. The site, United We Work, is free of charge.

Ann Belser from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writes about the evolution of the resume, from typed carbon-copied documents, to online resume uploading, through to today’s “job hunting meets computer dating” approach. Belser describes how the QuietAgent technology provides job seekers with anonymity, and guidance in creating their online profile;
The Web site is anonymous. Applicants do not reveal who they are until employers contact them. Employers can sift through applicants without contacting anyone until they have winnowed their field to a few.
The system guides applicants through filling in education and work experience, sort of like TurboTax takes taxpayers through the 1040.
